🧑‍💼Sign Up & Invite Coworkers

The basics

Got 2 minutes? Check out a video overview of how to sign up:

Signing up for OurGov is extremely easy, and we've got a wizard that should walk you through the steps. Still, it helps to know what you're stepping into before taking the plunge, so here goes.

Here are the steps:

Create an Organization

OurGov is a tool that benefits from collaboration, and we expect our customers to be a part of an organization (whether that's one team member, or many).

An Organization groups all of the employees/co-workers together and serves as the primary means by which we ensure your data is siloed from our other customers. You'll provide your organization's name/logo so that those can be used on any reports you generate.

Who should create the account?

The first person to sign up for an organization becomes its de facto "owner/administrator" and should be prepared to provide the necessary payment information to our payment provider, Stripe.

Choosing your product

The next step is for you to choose your product. As of this writing, we only offer single state licenses. All of our available features are included under this license.

Our licensing structure is on a per user basis, meaning that your monthly invoice will be dependent on how many users you are licensed for.

The specific pricing will be listed during the signup flow (we'd list it here, but we haven't set up the integration yet!).

Choosing your context

The next step is choosing your context. A context represents the governing body and the term in which your organization cares about, and can be changed at any point in your subscription (without cost).

An example context selection would be Wisconsin as the legislature, and the 2023 biennium as the term. After this, you're good to go, unless you've got coworkers to invite!

Invite your coworkers

Collaborating with coworkers allows you to:

Invite new members by:

  1. Clicking on your profile badge on the top right corner of the site.

  2. Select the My Organization menu.

  3. On this page, you should see a button to invite your coworkers to join the organization.

When others accept your invitation, your Stripe billing account will be updated with the appropriate number of users.
